Riley's First Halloween
It was so hard to decide what to dress Riley in for his first Halloween. Only a few years and I wont be able to pick his costume because he will decide on his own. I found a really cute football, but it was a little to big so he wore a skeleton outfit during the day and he was a pirate for the Halloween party. It was so fun dressing him up, He looked so cute in both costumes. check out the cute pictures. I can't wait for next year.....

I hit a deer....
Tonight was a very scary and sad night. I was on my way to the gym to work out and only got a few blocks away and I hit a deer. It just jumped right out in front of me. I was in the SUV and I was alone, thank god. It was very scary and very sad, I was going about 40mph and hit the deer straight on and came to a stop. The deer flew to the side of the road and died. Of coarse I was crying. The police came and Dan loaded up Riley and came to me as well. Travis and Marie came to help. I felt so much better when everyone was with me. My car didn't have much damage to the outside but was driving funny, My brother and Dan tried to drive it home and almost got there but we had to call a tow truck. Now the car is in the shop and will be for a while. I am so glad I decided to take the SUV instead of the car because other than being a little sore I was not hurt. I feel horrible about the deer but there was nothing I could do.

Riley has a new friend
Baby Jaiden is here. Our very good friends Matt and Danielle had their little baby boy. Jaiden was born on 10/24/08 and weighed 9lb 5 oz. Riley and I went to visit them today. Riley had a good time meeting his friend. Matt, Danielle big brother Devin and baby Jaiden are all doing well. We can't wait for them to grow up together and be best buds.
Riley's 2 month check up and First shots
Today we went to Riley's 2 month well child exam and class. Dan and I enjoyed the class and learned a lot of information. We are really enjoying these classes and are learning about our baby and his development. Riley is now 11 pounds and 3 ounces and is 22.5 inches long. He is growing so big so fast. The Doctor says everything looks great. Riley had to get his first immunizations today. This was very sad, he got three shots in his little legs and he screamed. check out the band-aids he got.

Riley's first time to the Pumpkin Patch
This was an exciting day for Riley, It was his first trip to the Pumpkin patch. The family all went to Spooner Farms in Orting. Dan, myself and Riley went with my parents, Leslie, Sean and the boys and Travis, Marie and Sierra. It was a beatiful day and we had a lot of fun picking out our pumpkins. Riley was a little fussy, maybe he didn't like the pumpkin we picked out. After the pumpkin patch we met more family in Sumner and had dinner. This was a very busy but fun day with the family.

2 months old.
WOW, I can't believe my little boy is two months old already. The time has gone by so fast. Riley is growing so big and changing everyday. He is looking more and more like his daddy everyday, He is starting to become very vocal and loves to be talked to. He is becoming very fun to watch and play with, He makes all kinds of faces and one of those being a smile, which is my favorite. It is not one of the gas or dream smiles, it is a real smile. He smiles at me every morning and he smiles at his daddy every night when he gets home from work. His cute little face just makes us melt. Riley has his well child visit in a couple days and we will find out exactly how big he is. I only have one more week home with him and then it is back to work. I am dreading that day. I have had so much fun being home with him and wish I could stay home forever.

Riley gets to meet his Aunt Frances
Dan's sister Frances came in from Virgina to visit. We went out and had a nice dinner with her and Dad and Diane. It was so nice to see Frances again because we really miss her. We only wish we got to spend a little more time with her. Riley got to meet her for the first time and although he was a little fussy he was so happy to see and meet his auntie.

Me and Grandpa in our bibs
Home Improvement
We have been doing a lot of work around the house lately. We painted the outside, got new garage doors and a new front door with cedar siding. We had a lot of help, Our good friend Matt helped Dan Paint, My dad helped a little with the painting as well. Dans brother Bernie came out a couple times and helped us with painting, hanging lights and putting in the new garage doors, and Dan's Dad big Bernie has done an awesome job on our front door and cedar siding. The house is still a working progress but we love it. We are so grateful for all the people that have helped us and continue to help us. We love all of you. Here is a picture of Dad's masterpiece. We will post more pictures when the house is done.

Riley's First walk in his stroller
Riley and I went over to our friend Danielle's house to visit her. She is over due to have her baby and we are so excited. It was a really nice day so we decided to go on a walk around her neighborhood. We thought we could try to walk baby Jaiden out but it did not work, Riley has gone on a walk before but has always been in his car seat so today was the first time he sat in the stroller all by him self. He looked like such a big boy. He loved looking around and enjoying the fresh air. Towards the end of our walk he drifted to sleep. I also enjoyed the walk, it feels really good to start exercising again after all that bedrest.

First night away from my baby
I had my mom come and get Riley for the night so Dan and I could have a date night. Riley went to Oma's and papas and stayed the night for the first time. He had a great time as well as my mom and dad. Dan and I went out for a nice dinner. We went to a place called Iron Chef. It is a Japanese steak house and it was so much fun and the food was awesome. I would recommend it to everyone. After dinner we just hung out together and talked. This was the first time we have been just us together since Riley was born. Although we had a great time and enjoyed the time together we both missed Riley very much, especially me. I was looking forward to a good nights rest without the baby but I didn't sleep very well at all. I kept waking up. I guess I am so used to it. We went out to breakfast the next morning and then drove down to my parents to pick Riley up. The drive felt like the longest drive ever, but when we finally got there we were so excited to see him. Thanks mom and dad. =)

Nipple Stealer
Daisy and Duke like to take Riley's nipples to his bottle and pacifiers and chew them. Duke got one of the nipples to the bottles off the counter ( I know this because Daisy can't reach) and Daisy had it in her mouth. She ran under the table when she noticed I was coming to get it from her. It was so funny I was laughing so hard but at the same time telling her she was bad. It looked like she had a mouth guard in her mouth and it made her kind of smile. I just had to take a picture. I hope you enjoy it and get a laugh from it like I did.

A day of Appointments and Riley's Results
Today we had Doctors appointments. First we had a follow up for Riley at the Urologist. We got his results from the test a couple weeks ago. What he has is his bladder is what is called a ureterocele. This is a congenital abnormality of the urinary bladder. This developed prenatally and is unknown why this happened. This effect the ureters in which Riley's case the left side swelled and developed a pouch. The concerns with this is obstruction of urine and infection. The doctor even said this could be the reason Riley's left kidney never grew but there is no way to know for sure. He said he is pretty sure that what he has is not genetic. The plan is to just keep an eye on him. He has another ultrasound in November to see if it has gotten smaller. The doctor said if he had his left kidney he would have needed surgery right away but because he doesn't have it, the doctor hopes the ureterocele will just get smaller and go away. We just have to watch for any signs of infection, which is hard in a baby. So for the most part everything is good. We will let you know how the ultrasound in November goes. So after Riley's appointment we had to go out to Tacoma for my 6 week postpartum check. It was nice to see Dr. Kovanda again and she was happy to see Riley. I can't believe it has already been 6 weeks. Everything from the check was great except one little scary thing. I have a lump in my breast that is a little concerning so I have to get an ultrasound. Man I swear I have had so many tests. When is it going to end. Well please keep Riley and I in your thoughts and prayers and I will let everyone know how we are doing. This was a very busy day and we were so happy to get home.

Meeting new people
Today Bernie,Mary and Conner came over to help with the garage doors and to visit. Riley got to meet his Aunt Mary and cousin Conner and see uncle Bernie again. Conner is getting so big. I think he had fun holding his new cousin. It will be more fun when Riley is bigger and can play. Riley loved starring at Bernie. We had a lot of fun hanging out and visiting.
