Dr. Gandhi

Today we had a follow up appointment with the Urologist Dr. Gandhi. He told us that Riley's Ultrasound results were great. He said Riley's Kidney is the size of a 6 year olds, which is great because he only has the one. He said it is big and healthy. He also told us that Riley still has the ureterocele in his bladder. We are going to continue to watch this and as long as it is not causing any problems there is no need for surgery to fix it. We just have to be cautious and make sure Riley doesn't have any bladder infections and when he gets older that he doesn't have difficulty going to the bathroom. We were so happy about the results today. No more follow ups for 1 year. Yea....... =)

Santa

Riley loves Santa. He has gone to see him twice. Has sat on his lap, gave him high five and every time he sees Santa or someone says Santa, Riley says "ho.ho.ho" . It is so cute. Most kids his age are scared of Santa and most of the pictures turn out bad with the kid screaming. Not Riley, he loved it and we got the greatest pictures.

Festival of lights

Down in Montesano where my mom and dad live is a Winter tradition called Festival of Lights. It is a big parade full of lights. There are trucks, bikes, motorcycles, 4 wheelers, dogs, kids, marching bands, big trucks and more. We have been going to this for the last 5 years and we have a great time. Dan was not able to go this year because he was so sick. Riley had a great time. We bundled him up and he loved watching all the stuff go by. His favorite part was the big trucks and the fire truck with Santa on top. He waved and yelled "Santa, Santa, Santa" . After the parade we all went back to the house for a party. It was a great night.

Sick , Sicker and Sickest

We got a bug in our house and it is not a nice one. Starting the day of my surgery Riley got really sick. We found him in his crib covered in vomit and then the got sick all over me and Dan. The next day I started vomiting and was the sickest I have been in a long time. I felt like I was dying and Dan actually had to take me to the Clinic to get checked out. Then the next day Dan got it. I think with each person it went through it got stronger because Dan had it the worst. He was down for about 3 days and lost 20 pounds. Man this was not fun and I hope the bug will stay away for a long time.

Surgery

I have had a lump in my breast for a little over a year now. I have been going to the Dr. about every 3 months to get it checked out. It has been very stressful but I have been encouraged that it is not cancer. It is still there and is painful so my Dr. said it was time for it to come out. I had surgery today to have the lump removed. It was a day surgery but still scary. Dan and my mom were both there to support me and give me comfort. The doctor said it did not look like cancer but it was a good thing we decided to get it out. I will know more when I get the results. It is very painful but I have good drugs.

Christmas deck for Grandpa and Grandma.

Our family decided to build a new deck for my grandparents for Christmas. They are in Arizona for the Winter so we all got together and did demolition of the old deck and then built a new one. Well the guys did all of the work, the girls stayed inside where it was warm and occasionally went and got coffee and food for the guys. It was very cold outside but the guys toughed it out and did a great job. We took pictures along the way and put them all in an album and sent it to Arizona with a very cute poem my mom wrote.

Victorian Country Christmas

My mom, my sister, myself and the boys went to Victorian Country Christmas at the Puyallup Fair. We had a good time but at times it was very hard to shop with 2 one year olds in one wagon. The boys liked looking at the lights and going on the carousel. We even got to see Santa. Riley loved him but Liam was not so sure. Next year we are making it a girls day and the boys are staying home.

The Christmas Tree Farm

It was a very nice day so we decided to go to the Red barn and find our Christmas tree. This was Riley's first time going to a tree farm to cut down a tree. We looked all over the farm and Riley rode in his wagon pointing at all the trees until we found the prefect one. Dan cut the tree down and Riley wanted to help so much. After we got our tree we went on a train ride around the farm. Riley had such a great time. It was a very fun day. Now it is time to decorate.

Happy Turkey Day

This year we went to my Dad and Mom's for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time with all the family. My mom made a great dinner and I got to help her as much as I could. Riley got to eat Thanksgiving dinner this year. He tried a little of everything but his favorite was the butter rolls. He kept wanting more and by the end of dinner he was all greasy.

That Turkey looks sooo good.

15 Months

Riley is growing up so fast. 15 months old already. He is starting to become independent and wants to do things on his own. He loves music and loves to dance even more. He is very fun to watch and I find myself laughing everyday. His other favorite thing is books. He loves to be read to and to look at the books on his own. He is also talking a lot more. He can now say... Papa, up, all done, nice, yes, more, and ba-ba(bottle). He can tell you the noise a snake and lion makes. I can't believe how smart he is and his little brain is growing everyday.

Riley has his Ultrasound

Today we had a follow up ultrasound on Riley's Kidney. It has been 6 months since the last one so the doctor wants to look and see what is going on. Riley hated it. He would not hold still and he cried almost the whole time. The US tech even tried to give him a sucker and that did not work. He was not in pain he was just mad, because as soon as she was done with the ultrasound his tears stopped and he said "all done". We see Dr. Ganhdi in a few weeks and will know the results then. Will let everyone know what we find out.

Bed Head

I walked into Riley's room to get him up from bed and he had bed head. His hair was sticking straight up and I couldn't help myself to start laughing like crazy. His hair stayed like that until I got it wet and brushed it down.

A good day for a walk.

It was a nice fall day so we decided to go for a walk. We loaded up Riley and the dogs and went to the park. We had a great time. Riley loved picking up and holding the leaves and Daisy and Duke enjoyed smelling everything on the ground.
