I had gestational diabetes with Riley so I knew there was a chance I would have it again. I had Dr. Kovanda test me early so if I did have it I could get the education and start testing my blood sugars and stay healthy. The results came back and I have it again. So now diabetes education and testing my blood sugars. I am a little upset I have it again but glad I decided to test early so I can keep good care of myself and hopefully stay diet controlled. No more sweets for me. =(

Preschool

Today was Riley's first day of preschool. He is still going to Janet's house but now 2 days a week he will go early in the morning and go to preschool. He is very excited and so are we. He is such a smart little boy and loves to learn new things. He also loves to color, paint, cut and do other crafts so he is going to LOVE preschool. When we picked him up he was so excited to tell us about his day at school.

Not pickles

Tonight while I was at work I got a call from Dan asking if people can be allergic to pickles. Um yes why..... Well he goes on to tell me that him and Riley started eating pickles and ended up eating a lot of them and drinking pickle juice. He then tells me Riley's mouth and face are covered with hives. OMG. So I told Dan to go out and buy some benadryl and that should work .
When I got home a few hours later Riley was in bed but I wanted to check on him. When I went into his room I could tell he was breathing weird. When I got closer I noticed his lips were HUGE. His tongue was also swollen. I started to panic and called some of my nurse friends who calmed me down and just told me to give him more benadryl and watch him. So that is what I did. I gave him more medicine, brought him to our room and didn't get much sleep myself because I was monitoring his breathing all night. So scary. He woke up the next morning back to normal. I guess no more pickles for Riley.
